Where is your office?

My office at the moment is virtual and accessible from wherever you are. All my sessions are Video Sessions via Zoom.

My work hours are from Monday to Friday 9am to 7pm. The time zone I operate from is CET/CEST. I am currently accepting clients in the following time zones:

How long are sessions? Will therapy be long-term?

Each of my sessions are around 50 to 60 minutes long. The length of therapy will depend on what you are looking for and what your goals are for therapy. The session format would be once a week in the beginning and may be tapered down with periodic evaluations of your progress.

What happens in our first session?

The first session is usually an Intake session - your background, concerns that brought you to counselling, past history of counselling etc. In our first session, we will get to know each other a bit and discuss your needs and goals for therapy. In the first session, I offer you the space to share your story wherever it begins for you.

Will counselling be confidential?

All interactions, including scheduling of or attendance at appointments, content of your sessions, progress in counseling, and your records are confidential. However there are specific situations where therapists can share client information without client’s consent. They are as follows:

  1. If there is evidence of clear and imminent danger of harm to self and/or others, your counselor is legally required to report this information to the authorities responsible for ensuring safety.

  2. Your counselor, who learns of, or strongly suspects, physical, sexual abuse or neglect of any person under 18 years of age, will be legally required to report this information to child protection services/emergency services.

What is counselling like? What can I expect?

Counseling is a confidential process designed to help you address your concerns, come to a greater understanding of yourself, and learn effective personal and interpersonal coping strategies. It involves a relationship between you and a trained therapist who has the desire and willingness to help you accomplish your individual goals. Counseling involves sharing sensitive, personal, and private information that may at times be distressing. You can expect coping strategies, compassion and empathy from your therapist, different perspectives to highlight your past and present unhelpful patterns. You can also expect cognitive and behavioural homeworks to practice outside of the therapy sessions to integrate session learnings into everyday life.
